We do. And overpriced crap food.

Here's a useful rule for life: never buy your food at the same place you buy
your petrol.

Then you've never been to the Mobile station just west of Lee Vining, on the 'backroad' into Yosemite National Park, in California. We stopped there in 1999 while photographing Mono Lake. I read clippings on the wall from the N.Y. Post (?), raving about the menu & the food in general. My wife & I ate there several times during our stay in Lee Vining and actually looked forward to every meal there. And it wasn't just a burger & fry joint. They had complete freshly cooked, somewhat exotic full meals if that was what you desired. I got to talk to the cook & he told a story of being from a big city restaurant and wanting to open his own restaurant. Somehow he came to Lee Vining & opened up his restaurant in the Mobile station with hopes of eventually opening a hotel/restaurant. Don't know if he ever made it.

The Mobile station, brand new, at that time, had a full trapeeze setup of swings, nets and safety devices on the premise, whic some of the employees used during their free time - the most unusual 'gas station' I've ever been to.
