A dramatic photo, nicely rendered.
An alternative to the cylindrical print is, of course, a QTVR video.

Yes there's definitely plenty of room for improvement through cropping
the skyline though I'm not sure how much when it comes the the harsh
skylight apart from cropping that section entirely.

This is one of the major difficulties of producing ultra-wide angle
landscape panos, at one point you generally have the sun in the frame
and hence have to compromise on exposure. I have on occasion shot
multiple exposures per frame then produced an HDR composite but it's a
long winded process and completely impractical when shooting hand
held.
