I've been watching the sweltering belt ( oops, wrong thread) in our part of the world and read Boris's first post - AND feeling very lucky in NY... hoping I'm not tempting Providence, but I'll take 19 days of rain in June over 19 days of over 90 degrees and no wind. I'll also second Christine's observation of the rarity of Chicago's air ever being still...
Be careful you guys in the hot zones...

Actually, Boris, the air is thick and EXTREMELY still as well here in Chicago--very odd for our little spot on the globe. Hang in there, and in the mean while, take the family and go camp out in the living room! Cheers, Christine

Subject: The day the air stood still

Hi!

I have to rant. We're having yet another summer over here, duh! It is +35+C during the day and just below +30C in the night, no discernible wind. The air just stands still humid and moist. I am suffering from major sleep deficit. And unfortunately the only A/C'd room in the flat is the living room... I may have to transfer myself over there...

*sigh*

Rant's over.
