Hehehe.  That's actually not the sun.  It's the beam from the Point
Cabrillo Light House as the lens spins around.  I see what you mean
about the horizon, though.  I didn't have a tripod and was leaning on
the car window for stability.   I was just a bit fascinated with the
flare effect from the lens.
