After looking at the image and Bill's crop, here is my feeling. The extreme contrast between the shed and the shadow is the issue for me. I think the composition with the foreground looks good - the crop is a bit too much. Were it mine, I would probably try to burn in the shadow a bit and tone down the shed - basically reduce the contrast between the two - leave the composition alone.
