Thanks for the rant.  I've never had a tab break off but I'm sure it's
just a matter of time.

The interesting thing is that when I bought my DS I picked up a couple
of cheap SD cards (Kingmax is the brand) which don't have the tabs.  I
never actually knew that other SD cards had the tabs until a few people
complained about them on this list.

Those cards are still working fine but I've never seen that brand on
sale again.
