Interesting. It's very uncommon to find a working FG20 these days, but FG's are reasonably common and reliable. I guess either Nikon fixed the design issue or the ones that were going to fail did.
Apparently the fix was pretty easy. Take the top plate off the camera and jumper the contacts from the shutter button to the circuit board somewhere on the other side of the prism. From my sales experience, I'd venture a guess that finding an FG20, working or otherwise, would be fairly difficult. They were a hard camera to sell. The Pentax Program Plus was a better camera, IIRC, and was either a bit less expensive or the same price, depending on what was on sale. I'm rather surprised that any cameras from the FG/FG20 series have survived. I never really thought they were built to last.
