On paper the K20D will do about 2.5 frames per second. On paper the K-7 is about twice as fast.
Today I played around with both cameras in a park, tracking hooded gulls as they flew past, and snapping away with the DA*300/4 mounted. IOW, BiF. :-) I was stunned by the difference. The K-7 locked focus on the gull and kept it there for whole series at a time, while the K20D struggled to reestablish focus between every shot. As a result, about one in four was in focus with the K20D. With the K-7, the ratio was 17 out of 20. And needless to say, the practical difference in actual FPS is far more than the nominal doubling. My gut feeling says today's performance was about 3x faster for the K-7. Can't wait to repeat the test with the FA*600/4.
