You've discovered one of the 'endearing' philosophies of Adobe and its
products.  Rather than adjust their internal settings to match the
outside world, they seek to adjust the outside world to align with
their internal realities.

IOW, by your obsevations you would need to edit pictures specifically
for your setup, which would render them unusable in other
applications.
