I think that manufacturers' claims (for film, scanners, whatever) are always a post-modern moment. Meaning is relative.
Slide film has less dynamic range than C-41. I don't know about B&W. I once saw someone throw out 3.6 for C-41, and 3.2 or 3.4 for E-6 - but don't know if those figures were literal, or just for illustration. Joe - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
