I wouldn't turn shake reduction off. That is a poor option. I have mis-identified lenses (using a 300mm and calling it a 540mm (1.7x)). Results were a little wierd, universally a little unsharp/blurred. I suspect identifying a lens at XXX mm's will also affect focus corrections, if any. Regards, Bob S.
