I dunno... It's a photo that's pretty open to PP'ing. My immediate
reaction to your version is that it looks a bit too dull.
However I'm not sure if your friend's rendering is what I would have
preferred from the same starting point.
For one, I think the lightning looks far too yellow in her shot. Those
giant sparks have a brutal blue hue, and the diffusion by the
surrounding rain clouds wouldn't alter the colour that much. Secondly,
I would like to know the direction the camera was pointed in (N, S, E,
W), and how soon after sunset it was taken. This info relates to which
hue of blue the sky should have.

Straightening the horizon was a good move though... :-)
