Sounds like a double exposure device that lets you re-cock the shutter without advancing the film.

Film speed and the meter switch were rather unique systems. Lift the SS dial & turn it to set film speed. Big, big black button for the meter. I like the stop-down when firing system. Depress the button lightly & it stops down. Depress it further to fire. The only unknown is the little button inside the film advance lever. Anyone know anything about these babies?
