There's a Carl Zeiss Jena 80/1.8 auto Pancolar in M42 mount on the Polish arm of EBay at http://onet.allegro.pl/showitem.php?item=3640024. This highly regarded East German multicoated lens uses the same basic formula as the Pentax SMC 85/1.8 and, like the 85/1.8 in M42 screwmount, uses a 58mm filter.
The bidding began at 1 zloty. The auction ends 10 January (Poland time) and so far, there have been no bidders. Maybe someone on PDML who has an SMC 85/1.8 can get a great deal and tell us how the two compare. (Don't know if there's a reserve) I can't figure out how to use this site. Does anyone know of a translation site that offers Polish to English and English to Polish? I've seen this lens typically sell for $350 to $400 in M42. (It was not made in K mount.)
