Christine, I sympathised when I read your "dissappointment" post
because I wasn't happy with mine either but
saw I didn't need to reassure after reading several of the guys
answers... Of course I agree with them , except that
because of the nigthmarishness of it it isn't my thing and I like other
stuff of yours vastly better...
I tend not to "like" photos of rock bands with glaring lights and such
either, not because they are not done well but
becuase they are what they are... subject matter as well as light and
tone are important to me in how much I "like"
a photograph.
On the whole, I'm not fond of night shots - they just don't interest me
much.. but I went back and looked at the
gallery and found there were a couple more I was really struck by --
Walts Orion (my favorite constelation) Nebula
and Paul's movie marquee , especially for the juxtaposition of the three
films playing there...
And then there is Ralf the unsurpassable, though there are others of his
I enjoy more...
But certainly a handsome gallery overall I think

assure everyone, I'm not beating myself up over this one :-).
And Luiz--I think you just taught me a whole lotta good things about
photography with your kind and wise words below!
Sending big cheers to everyone, Christine

Christine, pls don't ever think that way!
I really think your pic is very, very interesting, and perfectly
placed in the gallery's theme. I'd comment them all - will do - but
felt your posting couldn't wait at all.
Each and every one of us (broader sense, not just PDMLrs) is unique -
so we're bound to see the world in unique ways. I love watching those
photos and galleries you and the others post, and hardly fail to get
a richer view of this (these??) world(s). Of course there are moments
I fail to connect, or feel that specific image could be diff. And
when I talk about that I'm really saying how alike - and at the same
time different my vision is... answering to the movement caused in my
small part of the world by that image or idea.
And I tell you frankly I felt that vision in your photo alive - and
would never think of that view by myself... and now you showed, I can
and probably will be "seeing" photos in that line, with that
particular visual and "alternate reality" feeling.
PUG reflects that endless variety of visions, ideas and lives. Each
and every one counts. The only mistake is failing to participate -
meaning not subscribing images nor browsing the gallery to see other
worlds - and that's a mistake I repeated often enough lately.
Thank you - and the rest of you PDML' members - for your unique
views. I can't express in words how those make my world brighter and
rich.

I regret posting the picture I did. It was a bit jarring for me as
a viewer of the gallery to go from the lovely nightscape and
starscape pictures to the edgy picture I submitted--so sorry about
that guys and gals.
Bruce Walker, sorry to hear about your neighbor's house. Hope all
is well with them.
To everyone else--absolutely stunning photography. Really lovely.
And thanks, Scott for all the work involved in assembling the PUG.
Cheers, Christine
