The current price for the 77 ltd is actually $660 at B&H probably about the same at any other reputable retail location. Now I personally like the 77mm for digital but it fulfills the role that a 100~105mm lens had with 35mm film, and the 85mm now fulfills the ~135mm role. Thats a much bigger difference than they had on film. So it's your call on that score. The 77mm is high on my want list, whereas the 85mm f1.4 is made of unobtainable as far as I'm concerned, unless someone actually gifted me with one.

Well the asking price is approx USD 1300 I may be able to negotiate
down a bit 10% or so. Given that one can get a new 77 limited f1.7
for under $800 any opinions on the choice ?

I bought one from B&H in February this year, used but 9+ rating, for USD 699
(and USD 60 in shipping). Performs well on the k20, but it is a substantial
lens to carry around.

Subject: FA* 85mm f1.4 - Grab or pass ?

Hi ,

I have the opportunity to acquire a used FA 85 f1.4 but in Like new
condition complete with original box manual packing etc....

How does it perform on the K10D/K20D or K7 ? ( currently own a K10D
but will probably get the K7 soon)

What would be a reasonable price to pay for it ?

Regards

Patrick
