Well, yes, in the sense of "is that a long lens or a normal lens?",
sensor size has to be taken into account, but I'm never sure if people
mean this in field of view terms -- you'll see about what somebody
normally sees -- or in terms of apparent distance, or just what.

I will admit to being a bit cranky about trying to get flying birds into
the field of view of long lenses generally, too. :)
