If you're going to sink that much money into it, you ought to go ahead and get the the V750-M Pro. It has better B&W negative capability.

I wasn't very clear. My current scanner will not scan a 4x5 negative. So I'm either 
going to scan 4x5 contact prints on the existing scanner, or spend about $500 on a
