I am really sad this week. One of my favourite haunts has closed down really unexpectedly. Sure, the bar smelt like a sewer, the lighting was consistently dodgy, they paid the musos peanuts, and the loos were an ongoing science experiment. But the vibe was cool. And it felt like the safest pub in Sydney. I met the friendliest, most open, musically-aware (albeit beer sodden) crowd of punters, and heard countless number of aspiring and inspiring bands. I don't think, if it ever gets back up, it will ever be the same
