Sometimes you measure something and get a surprising result. To do that,
however, you have to spend most of your time measuring unsurprising results. ;-)

Driving fast cars boosts testosterone

680News staff | Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 8:36 am

Scientists at Concordia University in Montreal have found that driving
fast cars boosts men's testosterone level which could lower the risk of
heart disease, diabetes and depression.

They put men behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 and then let them drive a
16-year-old Toyota Camry and then tested their hormone levels.

After a spin in a sports car, testosterone levels increased significantly.

But after driving the family car, hormone levels stayed the same or even
dropped.

Scientists think this could explain why some men buy a sports car to
help them through their mid-life crisis.
