That's tautological (however it works is how it should work), but, whatever.

I think you're making some good points in a contentious and perhaps not very
clear manner....

The fact is that _technically_, making a "perfect" meter is almost
impossible. A few discussions with designers of meters would make that
obvious. However, you're right that almost all of today's meters are good
enough.
