I think that all parties should get communicate more about these
things. CS4 and the Epson driver work fine in OSX 10.5. So perhaps
it's Apples fault. I don't give a damn. I just hope they fix it. BTW,
in two separate e-mail communiques, Epson claims that the driver
works, and there is no problem. Apple says that there is a problem,
and the driver is to blame. Adobe says nothing, as far as I can tell.
Whatever. Back to work.
Given the fact that the behavior is specific to Photoshop CS4 (I've
now tested CS2 and CS3, don't have CS4 available to me), and the Epson
driver works flawlessly with Lightroom, Pixelmator, Aperture, and all
the other software I use to print anything, this clearly put the
problem squarely on Adobe and Photoshop CS4.
Blaming the printer manufacturer and print driver as the responsible
party here with no basis in logic is what seems completely ridiculous
to me.
I'm not just blaming the printer manufacturer. I'm perfectly willing
to blame all the parties involved, myself included.
Don't you have something more important to do?

Which is, IMO, ridiculous. If I was asked to name the most likely
scenario for colour management outside the Epson drivers I'd have to
nominate Photoshop on a Mac. Apparently, though, Epson don't test
this.
