Love to see such activity when visiting iconic photo spots.
Fun catch!

I got a kick out of it too.
Actually, in the two times I've been there in the last three years, I've
never seen it so busy. That was unusual.

It is a spot that the tourist buses can pull up to. So a tourist bus had
just disgorged (the P&S crowd), but at about the same time, 4-5 cars pulled
up with DSLR photographers with tripods. They looked organized, like a
group taking shots together, or even a class or photo weekend.

I got a bit anxious since I was hanging around for the light to change.
But, stupidly, I believe stupidly, they all left about 30 minutes before the
sunset. That is the picture I showed on list, sunset on El Captian. Since I
have arthritis in my knees and don't hike, I have to take shots that are
basically car accessible, or near to the road. But it seems not that many
realize how El Captian lights up at sunrise and sunset (there were only 4 of
us later, scattered around the spot).

So I got a kick out of them, but enjoyed them much more in retrospect
after they left. :-)

And thanks to Paul as well.

As for the rest of you who commented, :-P.
