============ I used to have that attitude, but now I've grown to like Lightroom. Not in love with it, but I find it the best way to "preview" my raw photos. I also made it ape the organization I have on HD, and have used it to improve the organization I have on HD (one can move pictures and directories from within LR). I like knowing exactly where my pictures are (without aliases). Collections I mainly use to do web pages. But I am not a "professional" photographer with tons and tons and tons of shots. I'm also learning how to use grid view and compare view to pick my best shot out of similar shots, as well. You can get up and running in LR very quickly, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have some nice features that take time to learn, just like with any photo editing/organizing software. One can live without LR, I still use Elements for most of my editing, but I've come to feel I'd rather not.
