Truth be told I think I bake more often but I'm happy using a sturdy fork or a
whisk (with appropriate elbow grease). I find it more satisfying and kitchen
machinery tends to be very noisy which annoys me.

She's been wanting one of those nice Kitchenaid mixers and we were going to
wait until after we rebuild the kitchen in the new year before getting one.
But we decided we liked the colour of the 90th anniversary model which is
limited so we flexed the plastic and ordered one early.

We're softening the blow by cashing in our credit card loyalty points for
vouchers, but the retailer in question had sold their last one so they had to
back-order it. They had just about every other colour in stock...

My "treat" for the new kitchen will probably be some nice pots, if I can decide
which ones to get.

Cheers,
Dave
