Sony can't afford to do that, it's both a different business unit from
the camera division and the only aspect of their entire still camera
efforts that actually makes money. They can't afford to develop their
sensors without the funds they make off Nikon and frankly, they don't
care about Pentax, which is too small to matter (even if the K-m and
K-x outsell the A2x0/3x0 line).
