The A550 is also significantly more expensive than the K-x (Nearly twice the price). It's sole advantage seems to be the ability to select AF points. The K-x is shaping up to be a HUGE win for Pentax, there's nothing even vaguely comparable for similar money as it's significantly cheaper and faster than the D5000 or Rebel T1i, let alone the A450/500/550.
