I struggle a bit too in low light with the FA 50 f1.4 on the K20D, but I'm
so used to it now, I kind of know what to expect and try my work-arounds. I
find with the FA 50, I have to goose the focus a bit--that is, I 1/2 press
the shutter, get the yellow hexagon, then 1/2 press the shutter again, and
the lens focuses again just a tiny bit (it's like the lens nudges into focus
just that extra smidgeon it needs), then I get the yellow hexagon again,
then it's press the shutter all the way down. Now, I'm sure this sounds odd
and slow, but it's a work-around I've used *when needed* & it works pretty
well--though I should say, I don't always need to do this. Do I sometimes
miss shots? Yep. Is it annoying? Yep. For this reason, I spent a little
bit of time trying to improve my flash skills, and feel I'm getting better
at blending flash ( from the Pentax 360) with ambient light, but it would be
nice to have a camera body with solid low light AF capabilities. Cheers,
Christine

Subject: low light autofocus
Is there any combination of Pentax body/lens (digital) that does
relatively well in low light? I took my K20D and K200D to a wedding
and the autofocus sucked in a big way with the both a DA 12-24 and an
FA 50 1.4. I tried to focus manually when I noticed about 1/2 of my
shots were out of focus, but my eyes dont do well in bright light let
alone low light.
