I'm OK for either of the dates suggested. Your choice. I
assume you
are day-tripping? I can be down there for ~9.00am, dependent on
traffic.
Let's go for the 28th then. 9am is distinctly optimistic for
me. If I get the train I won't arrive much before midday at
Mcr Picc. I'd then have to get to Trafford Park, which I've
never been to. In fact, I haven't been to Manchester at all
since 1976.
Roll on HS2, I say. Trains from London to Manchester are a
nightmare - presumably because no Secretary of State for
Transport has ever wanted to go there on a Sunday.
I'll investigate the car options, which might be more
sensible than the train.
Turns out that driving is even worse than the train - takes longer and costs
twice as much as a first class seat on the train!
So I arrive at Piccadilly at 11:04 on the 28th and leave at 18:15. I expect
there'll be a rickshaw or sedan chair that'll take me to the museum and
back.
