sRGB *is* a flavor of RGB. To be specific, it's an RGB gamut defined exactly within specified limits. It was designed for CRT viewing originally, but is still very good for the vast majority of monitors in use. It is also, coincidentally, very good for printing on traditional (photosensitive) paper.
