I didn't expect this to happen but with the sigma 1.4x tc I just got it auto focused with both the Pentax F4.5-5.6 35-80 and sigma F4-5.6 70-300 at the longest zoom range. Addmittedly it needed a bright ( 7+ ev according to the light meter ) contrasty target but still this means the SAFOX system can operate to F8 or so. This also means the tamron 70-300 F4-5.6 most likely will AF with it's matched 1.4 tc and maybe others. Now the AF was slow, it did hunt alot missed objects that it should have picked up normally so it's usefullness is limited to stationary objects but it's still impressive that it can do it.
