The good news is that I'm not out any $ as the software was purchased for my 
wife's PowerBook G4 laptop through her work. Of course, it installed just fine 
on her machine even though it's going on six years old now. But, since Adobe 
allows for single users to install on one laptop and one desktop I gave it go 
on my Mac Pro. Well, that was an adventure. 

I wonder if it has to do with the Intel chips on my first generation Mac Pro. I 
know that others with identical machines were having precisely the same issue 
as me. But, even folks with brand new machines were having install issues so 
it's anybody's guess.

I'm thinking I might upgrade to Snow Leopard and see if that makes any 
difference. It's totally counterintuitive since SN has all kinds of bugs 
associated with it if you can trust the forum chatter. But, I probably give it 
a go for a lark. At this point I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it would 
do any good :-)
