I realize I'm just an old fart with old fashioned ideas, but I'll never
get use to urban graffiti. We have it where I live, here in Utah. I saw
it when I was in Hawaii right next to stunning beaches. While some will
call it a form of urban art or personal expression, I consider it simply
as defacing vandalism. I also consider those who litter streets and
allies with broken glass to be vandals. I ride a bike and I don't like
getting flats from their 'cheap thrill seeking.'
I know these things will never go away, but I sure don't have to like
them or accept any of it as respectable behavior.
Leave it in place a couple thousand years and it turns into a cultural
icon.

I feel the same way about tattoos BTW.
I've seen far too much really talented "street art" to consider it mere
vandalism. Tagging objects with gang trash OTOH, is vandalism.
Don't get me going on tatoos. I spend more time trying to get rid of them,
either by creative posing or creative cloning than I would care to.
