<G> Naturalizing bulbs is the practice of placing them under trees or at the edge of a wooden area, and letting compete with the natural vegetation, rather than planting them in a more formal garden setting and removing weeds and other competition around the bulbs. Since they emerge so early in the season, this generally works well and enhances the effect of their solitary appearance.
