I like photography. I also want to retire soon. For the last 5 years, everything I've bought for my two main hobbies (considerably more than I need) has therefore been looked upon as an investment (or at least something that will maintain some semblance of value). As to my firearms, they are all collectable battle rifles and well regarded collectable pistols. In many instances, the parts that wear have been temporarily replaced (barrels, firing pins, springs and in some instances, stocks). The rifles will be put back in original order when I sell them. The same concept is true for my photography equipment, except that I can't temporarily replace parts. These items form a part of my savings. Needless to say, when I sell them (those I am forced to part with) I want the very best, honest price I can get for them. I will do the very best I can. There will be top quality photos of the equipment as well as an excellent and honest write-up, and the auction will be timed to end when best advantage can be taken of last second bidding. Further, the reserve will be high and there will be NO "Buy it now" price. I will get everything I can honestly and honorably get. I am happy to say that to date, my investments in my play toys have outperformed all other investments.
Regards, Bob... -------------------- "Let us contemplate our forefathers, and posterity, and resolve to maintain the rights bequeathed to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. The necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that 'if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.' It is a very serious consideration that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event." - Samuel Adams, 1771 From: "Malcolm Smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Hi Everyone, > > As someone who has benefited from what is on eBay, from PDML members, I was > disappointed to see that it is not the done thing to inform others of a > bargain on said eBay.
