It can be problem with broken index files.
Whatever is file type / extension.
I like Mozilla/Netscape , because they store e-mails as simple text
files, messages concatenated.
All extra information, except some flags, is stored in additional index
files.
Just move away these files (to some temp dir), and Netscape will rebuild
indexes again.

Any ideas would be appreciated.. I can't get into my address book, even. It
crashed
(coincidence ??? hmmm) just after I accepted the latest WINDOZE upgrade... I
tried to debug
to no avail... interestingly, I could trick the computer into using my older
version of netscape (4.6?)
but my beautifully organized netscape 7.0 with 13,000 sent messages and about
5,000 in the inbox
cant be reached... I can use this - the online mailbox, ok but the sent mail
folder on old netscape
I can't access...
I've had occasional funny start ups (quiet at the back) where there is a message in the
information bar at the bottom of the window saying something like "rebuilding
inbox". This can take some minutes and, if you don't notice the message, appears as
if something drastically wrong has happened. Check for this and, if present, just leave
the machine. It will rebuild the folder and it will appear once done. When you switch
to another folder, you get the same message and hiatus. Once they have all been done,
the app goes back to normal working.
