I doubt it would be economical for mail order, but in downtown
New Delhi there's a huge store that is a project run by federal
Indian gov't to encourage cottage industry by marketing the
products.

For the traveller, they are somewhat more expensive than the
markets, but generally higher quality and considerably safer
to deal with.

Most of the Indian States run similar operations. nearly all
with outlets in Delhi as well. Google New Delhi handicrafts
to turn those up.
