Hi!

I've just returned from Pentax Israel. They couldn't do it. Not because they were not capable, but because, as they said, the procedure would mean "playing" and lots of time spent. The technician suggested that I do it myself, because, he said, no one would take full responsibility for their actions should they damage the camera in any way. He offered to install the original screen back free of charge (of course) if I fail to win the shim game. I don't hold anything against Pentax Israel, and if fact I might have expected such a reply - it makes certain sense to me.

Now, if anyone who is coming to Chicago did this or if anyone would be willing to help me by explaining the process, I'd be most grateful.

In principle, I would like to come to Chicago with proper screen and A 50/1.2 lens for general shooting. At very worst, I could postpone the shim installation until I actually arrive there should anyone would be willing to lend me a hand.

*sigh*

Any help appreciated in advance.

Boris
