The ME-F works exactly like the ME Super, same design, form and fit except for additional lens mount contacts and the ability to verify focus with any K-mount lens. Even tells you which way to go when out of focus, and can chime when in focus. Unfortunately, it's nowhere near as sensitive as modern AF systems - but cute. The only draw back in comparison to the ME Super is that it takes four silver oxide (or equivalent) batteries instead of two and it goes through them pretty quick by comparison, especially if you turn on the chime circuitry. Also, the battery cover is a plastic door thing instead of a screw on metal cap and is somewhat more delicate. I like mine and use it as though it were an ME super.
ME-F body's do show up on ebay now and then. They seem to go for about the same price as an ME Super. The necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that 'if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.' It is a very serious consideration that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event." - Samuel Adams, 1771 From: "gfen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > On Thu, 24 Jan 2002, Mick Maguire wrote: > > > Perhaps it's time to find a reasonably ME-F body on eBay so it can be > > reunited with it's true host?
