Confirmed. I was off by a model-line. The 5000 was subject to the recalls, and Audi eventually renamed the 5000 to the 100 and 200 in 1989. Later on (1994-ish) the 100 became the A6 (the 80 became the A4).

Apparently a class-action lawsuit from way back then (1987) is still being fought in a Chicago court. Maybe the DANKHaus guests could also photowalk over to see it. :-)

it was about 20 years earlier, not the 90/100 models, but the Audi Fox in the 70s; i could be off since i'm not looking it up; i remember my high school math teacher had one
