These days I do all my bidding using a sniping service. I decide what I'm prepared to pay, lock in that amount with JustSnipe and forget about it until the auction is over. If I win, good. If I win at an amount significantly less than what I was prepared to pay, even better. If I don't win - well, at least I didn't get sucked into a last minute bidding war.
