Many of the old family-run places are closed or closing, replaced by
national fast food franchises or those terrible chain restaurants. A
few places, like Hot Dog Johnny's, have been around so long that they
have built up a loyal customer base that keeps coming back because of
the service and the atmosphere.  I patronize these local
establishments whenever I can, hoping they will hang in there for a
few more years.
