The printer dpi ratings have absolutely nothing in common with scanner
ratings. The Epson 1290 will do a magnificent job of printing scans from this
Minolta. In fact, the 1290 will do even better if you can scan at 4000 dpi.
The printer ratings are only a reference to the steps of the printhead. They
really don't relate to the scan dpi (or ppi).
