Hi ...

Sometimes the scanning times can be a lot slower, at least that's what I
read recently. I don't know if the Minolta allows for either SCSI or
USB, or just USB, but for now USB is acceptable as I won't have to
upgrade my old hand-cranked computer with a SCSI card, which is what I'd
have to do with the Nikon LS-1000, and I don't want to put much money
into the old beast. IOW, I want to get started on a small budget and
see just how much further I'd like to go. Since the Minolta allows for
automatic batch scanning, I can be doing something else while the
machine is slowly churning through a strip of negatives. Last time I
used the Nikon Coolscan 4000, we inserted a strip of six or seven negs
and went out for lunch <g>. Sometimes that's much preferred to hanging
around the scanning desk.
