A Pug is just a dog that had it's faced kicked in.
Many of the Chinese or Asian breeds share the short muzzle.
The Shar-Pei is pretty short muzzled, as is the Chow.
It doesn't take away from the character of the dog, though some people
apparently don't find it to be an attractive characteristic.
