Hi Christien:
Manual focus lenses work fine with the MZ-S. You get focus confirmation
in the viewfinder and also trap focus, which only works with manual
focus lenses.
As for the metering, you can use centre weighted and spot metering with
non-A series lenses, and with A series optics, you also get multi
segment metering.
The only possible gripes with a very small number of independent K mount
lenses in an MZ-S and other AF bodies is that they could get jammed in
the body mount, this can happen with some lenses which have the contact
required for program mode in some Ricoh bodies, and also with a very
small number of other independent lenses, but for a different reason.
Some members of this list have experienced this problem and can tellyou
which specific lenses to avoid.
