I hate to break this to you, but Jostein's penguin photo is better.
Oh, sure. But he had more than one penguin to choose from.
But I'm not sending that one on a trip around the world.
How about a Pentax 35mm camera? Whoever gets it shoots a roll of film
with it, and takes some photos of it in interesting places. The perfect
body would probably be either a spotty or a K1000.
Film? How quaint.
Not to mention the fact that those bodies won't work with most
of the lenses people have; DA lenses don't fit on a Spotmatic,
and only work wide open on a K1000. I don't think we need to
invent obstacles to make it hard for people to participate.
Send an appropriate lens along with the camera. If I donated a spotty,
I'd mount a supertak 50/1.4 and would suggest something similar for a K1000.
Besides, even if they didn't get pictures with the camera, it's a bit
more topical than pictures of a stuffed animal. Though I do rather like
the traveling lens where people go out and use the lens traveling around.
And who is going to develop and scan all those rolls of film?
Walgreens, Costco, CVS ...
