Maybe you should think about it this way: Someone has to pay for your pension. Did you think the government or insurance companies put your money in a jar? I think they are betting that the next generation will pay. If the next generation are too few or doesn´t have the money, you don´t get any. In poor countries they see their children as investments in the future, but in many ways they are the same in our part of the world.
