Hi,
I have used out-of-date film on several occassions, E6 chromes
only. Each time I tested one roll and had it quick developed (1hr)
at a local pro lab, to see if it is good, then I bought a whole
brick of it, at significant saving over normal price film (1/2
mostly). Storing it in freezer, so far it never failed me, even 1
year after expiration. But then, I have tested it before purchase,
and I shoot some not so important stuff on it every half year or so
:), to see if it's still good, before doing anything really
important. It were normal-speed films, but I have also used
outdated Provia 1600p, 6 months old, _coldstored_, that was normal.
Of course there is some small risk with it. But I don't shoot
chromes for commercial work much, so I can take it.
