Hi, Tom, My situation is a bit different than yours, but you might recall that I posted extensively on the weekend about an MX that I recently acquired whose mirror hangs up occasionally.
I brought it in to the local repair shop (Kominek's in Toronto). He seemed to think that a CLA would do the trick, but he'll look at the mirror mechanism specifically while he's in there. CLA at Komineks on an MX will be $150 Canadian, which as you all know is probably a bit less than $100US. It's worth it for me, not for sentimental reasons - I intend on using the camera extensively. But, here in Toronto, it seems that MX's (when you can find them!) go for anywhere from $350 to $400Cdn. The repair shop has a waiting list for used MX's, and he said that if he were selling the one that I brought in, he'd ask $400 (after the CLA). I was at Henry's on Saturday, and they have two of them, one for $369, and another for $400 (a black one). How relevent any of this is to your situation, I don't know... regards, frank aimcompute wrote: > Thanks Bob, I appreciate the feedback. > > I had advertised my ME Super last Friday with the sticky mirror syndrome. > Has happened twice in two years.
